The Queensland Government is investing over $800 million through its Building Future Schools (BFS) program to support growing communities.
The BFS program is supporting the master planning of inner-city state schools, delivering new state schools in growth areas across the state, investing in existing school assets and making strategic land acquisitions for the future.
The program is delivering new and innovative responses to inner-city schooling and establishing new state schools in our rapidly emerging communities across the state.
Queenslanders are changing the way they live and where they choose to live with more families deciding to embrace inner-city living.
Over the last 10 years, around 5,000 additional students have enrolled in Queensland state schools in, and around, the Brisbane CBD. This growth is set to continue with more than 3,000 additional students expected to move into inner Brisbane in the next five years.
As part of the approach to inner-city schooling, the Building Future Schools program is enhancing school infrastructure, building and strengthening strategic partnerships and developing and refining long-term master plans to support state schools as part of Brisbane’s changing landscape.
