Dedicated principals, teachers and support staff make the difference to the quality of learning in our schools. We are committed to attracting the right people with the right skills in the right locations, and supporting our education workforce to continually refresh and reinvigorate their practice.

Key highlights to be progressed include:

  • establishing a professional learning centre to strengthen teaching excellence
  • putting more teachers in state school classrooms with an extra 2500 teachers, including 875 above projected growth
  • transforming Human Resource management to attract and keep the best people in teaching.

Support for teachers

Online coaching modules are helping to strengthen pedagogical practice and teacher content knowledge at Middlemount Community School.

The How To Teach Reading pilot program with the school's primary and secondary teachers is having a positive impact on improving teacher confidence in teaching reading.

The online module provides a valuable resource for teacher development, particularly in rural and remote locations and is important in supporting graduate teachers to develop their knowledge and skills. Other coaching modules available include how to teach writing, maths and science.​​​
